Why I Chose Animas High School
I chose Animas High School because I am a hands on learner and it is very difficult for me to learn out of a book. So I decided to not go to DHS. So my mom suggested that I go to Animas. I asked her what it was like and I had her tell me everything she knew about it here to me. She told me that the learning here was hands on and that I don't have to learn out of a book. After she told me that I was pretty sure about coming here. Then I came here to shadow. When I came here I felt that I wanted to come here even more. I decided this because I saw how the teachers have a student/teacher relationship, and I love having a good relationship with my teachers. I also saw Dave Hershap. Dave was throwing things at his students and he was cracking all these funny jokes and I thought that was hilarious. To be honest I was a little scared of him but once he stopped harming children he turned out to be nice and not so psychotic. This is why I came to Animas; I chose to come not only because of the learning style, but also because of pretty much everything else.

I am a hands on learner. I cannot learn from learning out of a book. That is why Animas is a great choice for me. Animas also has a different education than my last school. My last school was great but the learning style gave me a hard time. I had trouble learning from books but here I learn easily and I learn more. I am motivated by the teachers. Specifically Sara Price in Humanities. I am not good at social studies and language arts but I am motivated by Sara to get good grades. In these subjects, in the past, I did terrible. but when i got into Sara's classroom, I got this boost of motivation from her. She motivated me to try hard and to get good grades because she cares. I love having a relationship with my teachers because then I have this special connection that for some reason makes me try harder. probably because having a connection with my teachers makes me try to get good grades, because then I'm trying to do it for someone rather than for just some random person.
